Hi Thijs, can you tell us why you came to Codux?

Sure. I’ve been working at Codux for 3 years now, after graduating in Business Administration - Master Management and IT at the University of Ghent. At the end of my studies, I had the opportunity to get to know Codux during my internship. Codux strives to bridge the gap between business and IT to make organizations more agile, efficient, and innovative. To achieve this, we believe that a data-driven approach is required, putting people at the center of the business, and supported by cutting-edge technologies (such as Low-Code Application Development (LCAD), Artificial Intelligence (AI)…). Since this vision is in line with mine, it was an easy decision to start my career in this innovative company.

At the end of my studies, I had the opportunity to get to know Codux during my internship. Codux strives to bridge the gap between business and IT to make organizations more agile, efficient, and innovative.

Tell us a little more about your work at Codux?

I originally started at Codux as a low-code application developer. Here I developed applications to transform, digitize and automate business processes (end-to-end). With low-code platforms, applications can be built and deployed in a snap using a drag-and-drop interface. This way,I was able to quickly learn the technical aspects of the platform and create full-stack applications quickly and with a lot of fun. This fast-paced, agile approach put me in close contact with the business, which helped me develop both technical and communication skills. Being a technical expert in close contact with the business brings its challenges and taught me to find a balance between (important) business needs and technical feasibility.

That's how I ended up becoming a Business/Functional Analyst. This means that I am involved in gathering business requirements to determine how technology can be used to address those requirements. This goes from translating the requirements into the functionality of an application to thinking about how to make the application as user-friendly as possible, to finding ways to improve the application with technologies like RPA. Then, I pass those solutions on to the developers so they can start implementing them. This experience as a developer helps me understand the developers and execute my new role as effectively as possible.

What do you like about working at Codux?

First, I really appreciate the versatility of my current job. As a business/function analyst, you communicate with both the company and IT. This gives you a deep insight into how a particular company performs its work. At the same time, you must be aware of how to best use the technology that has been implemented to help these people do their jobs. I must admit that this can be very challenging at times, but it keeps things interesting and helps me continue to learn every day.

Secondly, we are at the forefront of technological innovation. It's a real privilege to be able to work with all these breakthrough technologies like artificial intelligence. I strongly believe this will have a significant impact on our solutions, but most companies are still figuring out how to make this work for their organization. Inspiring customers and seeing how technology can improve their processes gives me enormous personal satisfaction.

Finally, I’m also involved in Codux marketing and sales. During our monthly syncs, I had the opportunity to suggest some new areas to explore. I have already written a whitepaper on how low-code helps companies on the road to hyper-automation. That helps me see where my next career move will take me.

Would you also like to help shape the companies of tomorrow? We are always looking for new talent and would love to meet you. Do not hesitate to contact us and maybe you will soon be my new colleague!
